[she wasn't expecting any sort of call today (or any other day), but in the middle of lunch, there is one, and she picks up up to hear--

oh. OH THAT'S SO CUTE!]

Mmhm, I am! It's a really nice day today. How about you?

I'm just having a sandwich with some chips... nothing too fancy, but it's sufficient. What are you planning on having for your own lunch, though?

I'm not sure yet...noodles maybe? Or something tasty from the cafe.

You're talking about Honeybee, right? Or Moe Moe... I've heard great things about both!

Honeybee! I don't think I've been to Moe Moe...do they have good snacks too?

Well, I've not been to Moe Moe yet, but I've heard they do! My boss is close with the owner, and he practically sings praise for them.

But Honeybee has great lemon bars. I would buy one from them every day if I knew I wouldn't make myself broke that way.

Ooh. Maybe I should try going there someday! If it's got such good praise. I work at Honeybee though, so I get free food there sometimes.

You should! All these little shops need patrons, after all.

You work at Honeybee? I'm sure we'll be seeing loads of each other, then. I'm hoping to eat there more often, honestly. The desserts have me hooked.

[ Ryuko doesn't go home much — that would kind of defeat the purpose of couchsurfing to stay away — but she has to check in occasionally. Partially to check the mail, partially to see if anyone else has showed up (it's a relief that nobody has), and partially just to keep an eye on Satsuki and Nonon. Know thy enemy, and all that.

Today's a mailbox day. Whatever she expected, it wasn't a tin of cookies, and she pops it open to read the note right then and there. She's still scratching her head when she spots Milly — and decides that if she's supposed to give them out, why not start now? ]

Hey! [ It's a little louder than she intended, but she's trying to get some attention here. ]

here's the mail it never fails - oh whatever auste go to bed

[Cookie delivery! One sugar cookie wrapped in white paper and boxed up in a small...well, equally plain box, coming up. The also-very-plain card has this message written impeccably with fountain pen:

Consider my thanks for indulging me when the landlord made us do strange and ridiculous tasks. But perhaps it might not be prudent to eat it.

[It seems like they see each other all the time, but with Milly involved, there's always lots of distractions. So instead of bringing it to her personally, Natsuru writes a small note and sends the oatmeal raisin cookie attached in a little plastic bag.]

I don't know if this is really safe to eat, so be careful. But, I wanted to give them to people who are important to me, anyway.
